DEMOSCENE

Demoscene 2000

  • Ameff was a drum n’ bass song I remember finishing when I was slightly drunk, hence the bizarre ending. It came in last in the C64 music competition at The Party 2000. The final proof of a old good party that just doesn’t cut it anymore, hehe.
  • Gunilla by Goto80 for Chipztream. This song was originally made by me and Greg for our band HT, and then I did this Amiga chip version of it for our new album “Smashar i Huvudet”. And then I contributed this to the Finnish group Chipztream and a music disk of theirs.
  • Circlescroller by Hack n’ Trade. This Amiga demo, coded by Booger, came in first in the Amiga-demo competition at Reunion2000.
  • Xmas. A song I made for some release by Chippendales.
  • Manhood by Triad. A C64-demo which came in #2 at Dreamhack 2000.
  • Domination #14 was a C64-diskmag I made stuff for.
  • Slugg came in #1 at LCP2000 in the C64-music competition. Drum n’ Bass yea yeah!
  • 26kg by Triad. C64-demo, #1 @ LCP2000)
  • Stig – Son of Stag by Hack n’ Trade. Amiga porn-demo released at LCP2000. Proudly walks in the footsteps of BnK’s great porno productions from the old Amiga days.
  • Stag – Son of Stig by Hack n’ Trade. We had to do a C64-version aswell, ofcourse. Also for LCP2000.
  • Domination #13, a C64-diskmag I made stuff for.
  • manhood by triad26kg by triaddominationdomination

    Demoscene 1999

  • Contact by TUM (C64-demo, #4 @ MS1999)
  • Horsing Around by Triad (C64-demo, #1 @ Dreamhack 1999)
  • ElectroFUCK by Hack n’ Trade (Amiga-demo, 1999). Yea, I was actually doing some sort of, eh, internship at Vinzi’s “job”. So we made this crazy hot Amiga demo.
  • LHCTPK99 by Hack n’ Trade (C64-intro, LHCTPK99). Made at a bizarre data get together inna Växjö – Little Hack Computer Trade People Konferens. I think that’s when me and Frantik started working on the song that later became known as Papaya Dub. :)
  • Triad’s Da Name 99 by Triad (C64-demo, #1 @ Remedy 1999)
  • contacthorsing aroundtriad's da name 99

    Demoscene 1998

    • Spice Up Your Life by Triad (C64-demo, #1 @ LCP1998). The first time I collaborated with the mega boy Hollowman and the notorious Triad. I remember good ol’ Jerry (the legendary 60+ leader of Triad) thought my music sounded like something was wrong. Excellent!
    • King Kong 3 by Goto80 (C64-music, #3 @ LCP1998). Also known as Drum n’ Bajs, I think.
    • Album of the Year by Nostalgia (C64-musidisk, 1998). One of the songs from Monkeywarning is in here.
    • Half Baked by the super oldie group Warriors of Wasteland (C64-demo, #3 @ X’1998)
    • Newspress #18 (C64-diskmag, 1998). I was really satisfied with this track back in the days. It’s still kind of special to me. It’s sort of dark, but not super experimental or anything. Melodic. Blabla.
    • 101 – A Tribute to Depeche Mode by Nostalgia (C64-musicdisk, 1998). Boys say go, got damnit!
    • Star Truk by Maniacs of NES (C64-musicdisk, 1998). Me and Mindflow’s little project, that is probably lost forever. Contained my covers of NES-music, and most of it can be found in the Lofi Mono Festival cassette. Hm, which probably can’t be found but then you could get Commodore Grooves and find them there instead. Phew!

    Demoscene Action 1996-1997

    • Megademo 4 by Hack n’ Trade is a C64-demo that got lost by the organizers at The Party 97. It’s probably one of the best C64-demos ever. I have some pretty weird music in it.
    • HT-Stag by Hack n’ Trade is an Amiga-demo that got disqualified at The Gathering 1997, probably because porn was sort of illegal in Norway back then. We didn’t get along with the security people there at all. For those who don’t know, this is a tribute to the old STAG demos made by the B’n’K back in the days. I didn’t do the music here, I justed helped out with my ROMBO digitizing skillz.
    • Megademo 3 by Hack n’ Trade. C64-demo for The Gathering 1997, which was also lost by the organizers I think. As usual, the best C64-demo ever.
    • Diods by Hack n’ Trade was a small Amiga-intro for Balsam 1997 which I did a small chiptune for.
    • Feddamys was the first C64-song I released (I think). I made it in DMC. Since I didn’t go to The Party 96, Gosh had to release it in his name. It ended up at #5 in the music compo.
    • Schmoovy-schmoov by “Vinzi”. Same thing here, but the organizers lost it. (!?)megademo 4megademo 3

    Shit by Yodel

Yeah, so Yodel called me and asked for a tune. I made it, took my bike to the local scoutstuga for Yodel Conference 3 and voila! Maybe this demo is lost and forgotten, I’m not sure. I’ve lost the song for it anyway. It was a frenetic arabian acid rave song, I remember that much. (hm, this really does sound like a dream)

    Yodel vs Hack n’ Trade

My first release was an Amiga rave song that I named HARDCORETECHNO3. It was for a PC-demo called Mayday – a Day in May by Yodel. I used the name DR.HARDCORE. I was 12 years old. Give me a break. :) Here’s a video of the part that I made the music for. I think it’s not really supposed to look like this, but getting DOS-things to work is… hard.

Around this time, me and Dampa founded Hack n’ Trade aswell, which is a demoscene group that’s still around today in many different shapes and forms and sizes and shit. You can find traces of Hack n’ Trade in LSDJ, Prophet64, ACNE, Winamp, Little Computer People, HT, Rebel Pet Set, Penpal Records, State of Samuel, Cuba’s new mobile phone network, and so on. Check out the never ending Hack n’ Trade website here. (drug spiders)
