Featured in the radio show Diggin’ in the Carts
Diggin’ in the carts was started by Nick Dwyer as a rather fantastic video documentary series in 2014 and has continued as a radio show focused on Japanese game music since.
In this brand new episode they are looking outside of Japan for the first time, and they interviewed me about the history of computer and video game music in the West. Rather big topic, eh? :) Pete from Anamanaguchi is also in the show.
So enjoy! It will go offline in 29 days I think.
Lecture in Frankfurt
I’m doing a presentation called HOW 8-BIT MACHINES CHANGED ELECTRONIC MUSIC at Robert Johnson Theorie in Frankfurt, on 20 October (not 13 as it said before). I will do some critical history on computer music and trackers, as well as the cultures around music/scene/cracking. Basically, I will prove that trackers are the best. =) And will also play some tunes, oh yup.
PET.CORP will also join and talk about their new mega tool for PETSCII visuals!
Gifgrond in Tilburg, the Netherlands
Doing an improvised set at Gifgrond on November 3rd and it looks like it’s going to be a pretty dang good evening!
Tiefengrund, Frankfurt w/ PET.CORP
I’ll perform together with PET.CORP (Ailadi & Jambonbill aka Sidabitball) for the first time soon! In Frankfurt on October 12th at Tiefengrund FFM to be exact. And the day after we will do a lecture/performance together, also in Frankfurt, but more about that later.
X’2018, Someren, the Netherlands
I’m playing at X’2018, the huge C64 demo party in the Netherlands where people like Reyn Ouwehand and Wacek will also perform.
X:Ploration, Suicide Circus, Berlin
Hallo leute, I’m playing an improvised ambient C64-set at this electro/techno party at Suicide Circus in Berlin, 19 October. This looks ganz toll so don’t miss out! More info on RA and Facebook. Art work hand painted by Haedre.
Made on Internet Now on the Internet
All rrright, after Commodore Grooves (2005), here comes Made on Internet (2006) to ze Bandcamp, released by Pingipung. There’s quite a few catchy things on this. And if you like that kind of “happy breakcore” stuff I made back then, you’ll be happy to know that I’m doing some new material in this style right now for this gig this weekend.
Btw1: the cover art was made by Ekta, who’s doing some pretty angsty street paintings these days.
Btw2: reading the original post about this album there were apparently a few good reviews of this album way back then. Wowz!
Commodore Grooves now on Bandcamp
My first album from 2005 is now on Bandcamp for download and as mint condition digipak CDs from the the original pressing. The CD also contains a data track with videos, images, text and 80 minutes of additional music. The white stickers have however been excluded due to health hazards.
100% Drain Bamage, Gothenburg
A night of faster, harder and stupider music in Gothenburg 1 September from 10 to 05 or something like that. I’m playing along with The Toilet & Ljudit Andersson, Xäcksecks, DJ Plånbok, Phase of Bass, Audiopat, OCD Soundsystem, Kvartingen and Fuck you Hitler. More details here.
New Video from Son Ionic
Two tracks from Son Ionic, a live C64 tesla coil performance by me and Josh Bailey recorded in New Zealand onto an SD-card that is now available on the tongue of a PETSCII monster on an A2 poster. Well yeah!
